Vedalken Plotter works well in more creature-focused decks if exchanging lands is of interest to you. Chances are good that at least one player will have some juicy lands that you can switch with a basic of yours. While this card only steals lands, donвЂ™t underestimate the utility in a multiplayer game. Though quite expensive, once this spell resolves itвЂ™s hard to lose. Expropriate is a way to cause a ruckus at a multiplayer table.

My oh my, what do we have here? One of my favorite spells to hit off Narset, Enlightened Master. This card is truly rude, and if your opponent plays a foil one of these against you, itвЂ™s easy to be envious.

What could be better than a Control Magic? Free Control Magic!! Treachery does exactly as its name suggests and is the efficient way to steal things. Similar to Gilded Drake, this spell also doesnвЂ™t suffer the liability of being removed by artifact/enchantment removal.

The more players at the table, the better this spell gets, and donвЂ™t even get me started on copying this spell on the stack with Riku of Two Reflections or Meletis Charlatan.

An EDH classic if there ever was one, this powerful sorcery is a great way to amass a huge advantage all to yourself. The synergy with bounce effects is just sweet gravy. Immunity to artifact/enchantment removal, combined with a 2-mana cost, makes this an easy A+ in my book. Even if the Drake dies, you still get to keep control of their creature, and they canвЂ™t even return a general to the command zone. This is my favorite way to steal something. Here are some of my favorite ways to use your opponentвЂ™s fancy things against them (donвЂ™t forget you have to give it back afterwards though).

Luckily for you, Commander is full of sweet ways to take the opponentвЂ™s stuff. Taking control of something for a game certainly isnвЂ™t a sin. So what if you actually envy something your opponent has? IвЂ™m talking about a permanent on the battlefield. GaeaвЂ™s Cradle may not seem attainable, but saving up for it by setting aside $5-$10 per week really adds up fast.

Save up and trade to improve your own decks.

Foil cards donвЂ™t do anything better than non-foils.

If they have a bunch of foils in their deck, outwit them with superior play.

If your opponents have an expensive mana base, use cards like Ruination, Back to Basics, and From the Ashes.

Here are a few ways to combat an opponent who may think they have you outmatched. It is an individualвЂ™s choice how much they want to spend on the game-donвЂ™t let that dictate how you act or perceive others.

Come prepared with answers to problematic and expensive cards, so when your opponent is vanquished, there will be nothing left to envy.

Someone having the monetary edge over you means nothing if they canвЂ™t beat you.

This may sound easier than it is in practice. Rather than scoff at someone who owns a full set of dual lands and expensive cards in their deck, be content and satisfied with what you possess. The best way to combat jealousy is to find happiness in the things you have. And fun is always the point of Magic and Commander.

While you are envious, it is impossible to have fun. Even wrath, which I talk about next, can stem directly from not getting what you want. Clear judgment and reason is a key factor in winning games of EDH-and having the most fun possible.Д®nvy is what I consider to be a вЂњgateway sin.вЂќ The smallest seed of envy can grow into other sins like greed and gluttony. Envious players are jealous of what others have, clouding their judgment and reason. You do not need to own the most expensive cards at the table to win, but being envious disregards this. ItвЂ™s natural to want things that others have, but doing so to the point that it makes you bitter or resentful is where it goes too far. Envy ProblemД®nvy is defined as covetousness, or wanting what others have.
